Leading homecare company BISSELL is continuing its recall of their popular Cordless Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuums, Models 2551R and 25518, due to a potential fire hazard.

This recall comes after BISSELL recalled about 56,000 Models 2551, 2551W, and 25519 in January 2023.

The latest recall affects an additional 2,000 units, making this an important issue for BISSELL customers.

The potential fire hazard arises from the circuit board inside the vacuum’s battery pack, which can overheat and emit smoke, posing a risk to users.

BISSELL is taking this matter seriously and urging customers to stop using the affected vacuums immediately.

If you own a BISSELL Cordless Multi-Surface Wet Dry Vacuum, you can check the model number by removing the clean water tank.

The model number will be visible at that point. If your vacuum is among the recalled models, you should contact BISSELL for a free battery pack replacement.

To reach BISSELL, call their toll-free number at 855-417-7001 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET on Saturday.

Alternatively, you can visit their website at www.BISSELL.com/recall or www.BISSELL.com and click on “Product Recalls” at the bottom of the page for more information.

BISSELL is offering two options for customers to receive their free battery pack replacement.

You can either take your recalled vacuum to a local BISSELL authorized service center or schedule a free in-home repair visit from an authorized BISSELL service technician.

Both options ensure that your vacuum will be fixed by a qualified professional and return to working order safely.

Fortunately, no incidents or injuries have been reported in connection with the recalled vacuums.

The affected models were sold at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet stores across the country and online at www.hsn.com between May 2019 and July 2021.

Prices ranged from approximately $180 to $330. The vacuums were imported by BISSELL Homecare Inc., based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and manufactured in China.

BISSELL is diligently working with its manufacturing partners to identify the root cause of the circuit board overheating issue and implement necessary design changes to prevent future incidents.

Customers who are concerned about their BISSELL vacuum can find additional resources on the company’s website, including safety tips, proper use instructions, and maintenance guidelines.

By following these recommendations, customers can further ensure the longevity and safe operation of their BISSELL products.
